The Viktor Rydberg Schools Foundation has three upper secondary schools and one secondary school in the Stockholm area. The three upper secondary schools are bilingual and about one third of the tuition is given in English by native speakers.
The first Viktor Rydberg gymnasium started in 1994, when the "Free School Reform" was introduced, enabling other actors than municipalities to run publicly financed schools. The free schools are financed through a voucher system.
Our upper secondary schools offer three out of the seventeen national programs, Natural Sciences Program, Social Sciences Program and Arts Program.
A great number of pupils apply each year. This has led to the schools having among the highest incoming grades in the country. The schools get high ratings in internal as well as external evaluations. Almost all graduates continue their studies at university level.
The schools offer bilingual education in Swedish and English; this means that many of the teachers have English as their mother tongue and teach in English, and that materials used in courses are in both Swedish and English.
